Time Marches On.

Today was another wonderful day! We had to be up by 5:00 to be at the bus line at 6:15 to get loaded on the bus at 7:15 in which the parade didn't start until 9:00. The weather was cold and foggy at first but just started to clear up as the airmen marched their way to the filed. Wyatt looks so handsome in his blues. It is crazy how motivated and inspired and serious he is...but still the same little brother in my eyes.
After the ceremony, we were able to visit his dorm in which you will see from above pics...his bed and locker. That was his tiny space. His bed wasn't even long enough to fit me. At 6'4 tall and not even the tallest man in his flight I cannot even imagine. His bed had not one wrinkle on it!
We headed to the town of San Antonio in which we roamed around Bass Pro Shops for hours on end him spending his well earned money. Guitar Center was next on the list in which he bought Fender tees for civilian clothes, as well as, a Ukuele for tech school. We will be sending his electric guitar to him in Mississippi on Wednesday. Joe's Crab Shack is where we scarfed down delicious crab legs, while my mom and I enjoyed cocktails.  Tomorrow we will have a whole day with him on a town pass. River walk, Lucchese boot factory, thrift shopping, and tons of laughs and loves, are scheduled for tomorrow.
Off to get some well needed ZZZZZ's...early mornings, long days, and very few hours of sleep...I am in much need of some beauty sleep!

WOW! I can't even explain to you the emotions and feelings I have and had when he was given his coin as an airman and he was set free to us! We had to run out to the ceremony from where he stood in his stance until we grabbed him. It was like...I can't even explain the happiness, pride, and excitement that overflowed not only us but him. We got to spend the whole day with him roaming around Lackland, A.F.B, which is like it's own community with malls, restaurants, baseball fields, bowling alley, bars, housing, horse stables, an arena...must I go on? We walked around the plane park in which I took pictures. I love this dress...snagged it for $10.00. This place is so beautiful and green. The weather is nice but hot and humid.
Today, he graduates in his blues. His flight earned "Honor Flight" which is THE BEST soldiers in a flight. Something to be proud of! We are then off base for the day to a trip to Bass Pro Shops and the freedom of him to be a some-what civilian.
Have a great day!

Life is beautiful./Column #19

This was one of our stops in Coolidge, AZ. Traveling thousands of miles and dressing up sometimes is nearly impossible....but I enjoyed this outfit. This was at Casa Grande Ruins which is a National Monument built by the Indians. I will be writing a colum and a blog on them so stay tune.
Off to get some ZZZZZZ's need to be up by 3:30 A.M. to get ready to see Wyatt!
Also, below is today's column.

Thank You!
By Amy Witt

While you're reading this...I am in the Lone Star state...Texas! My family and I rented a mini-van and road tripped to San Antonio to proudly watch Wyatt, my brother, graduate as an airman. Oh wait, I forgot to add we also have two baby pot-belly pigs with us along for the ride. Tulip and Petunia, are three weeks old in which we bottle feed. Sneaking them in the hotels rooms at times has been pretty comical. The trip has been filled with a serious of events...from wrong rental vehicles to wrong  and dirty hotel rooms to cold food...but all the while...happy and appreciative to be alive, well, happy, and healthy. The weather has been warm in Arizona and New Mexico. Texas brings us warm and humid weather with warnings of a tornado and severe thunderstorms.
I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to Rick Elkins, our editor, who gave me this opportunity, who believed in me with zero journalism experience. Dreams of writing for Harpers Bazaar or some day writing my own book, have been goals I've aspired since I was a young girl. This opportunity has been wonderful, fun, and at times challenging in which I enjoy.
Thank you to my readers' who support me; who stop me in the grocery store or Target or the gym or anywhere else they may see me and thank me for writing when actually the thank you goes to you!
My itenary probably interests you so I will give you a little insight of what's in store. I will be visiting the Lucchese boot factory, thrift and vintage stores to find some cowboy boots with a killer heel on them along with some boots to rope in, and of course those great vintage pieces. Spotting good deals for turquoise will also be a must. The turquoise in Arizona and New Mexico will blow your mind of course but the prices will make you run for the door. Wyatt's coin run will be today which is also the first day we will get to see him. We had to be at the base in line to be briefed at 6:00 a.m.here so 4:00 a.m. Porterville time. Wyatt graduates tomorrow and then he will be free to be with us for the day to stroll down the infamous River Walk. He will have to wear his blues to town which I think is pretty cool. He is not allowed to show any affection to us which is horrible...we are a very affectionate, loving, hugging, family. Saturday and Sunday will be our last happy moments with him until he flies to tech school in Mississippi on Monday for 37 days. He will return to Porterville for two weeks after. Believe me...we will be counting down the days!
I have so much to share with you when I return. Opportunities have been flooding me like you couldn't imagine. I will be posting different and fun pictures on my blog: caliidreamin.blogspot.com. What you waiting for? Go check 'em out! The pictures above I love because they are so real and happy. I had a very bad hair day yesterday...but those silly things don't matter...I am sooo happy and motivated right now I feel like nothing can stop me...and nothing or no one will. I am learning to weed out all the negative people and memories in my life.
The trash can picture is hilarious because Jo, our photographer...that sums it up for us...pure laughs.
Yesterday was such a good day! Whitney and I went to Zumba in the morning and had a girls day afterwards.
Whitney is one of my soul sisters...I have known her since we were in diapers...she is such an amazing, stunning, beautiful, woman who inspires me and pushes me to be the best everyday!
I have come to watch her grow and succeed through all her hardships and successes!
We went to support our dear friend Jo at Painted Rock...at a bear dance.
They sweat, had sage bathes, and performed their ceremony dances.
It was such a positive and spiritual experience. We had so many laughs, smiles, and positive energy!
I am headed to Texas tomorrow...we are road-trippin in a mini-van...haha and I laugh when I say mini-van.
My brother will be graduating from the Air Force so I am like beyond excited! The weather is in the 70's and 80's so my bag is mainly packed with dresses.
There will be many posts to follow.
For now I must be off to pack...and my mom says,"Amy...2 bags only!"..I laugh at her.
Anyways...have a beautiful rainy Sunday...Love the rain!!
