Column #4- Get your party dress on!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year….and it is filled with sequins, feathers, lace, and glam! Between Christmas parties, Christmas balls, cocktail parties, and New Years parties, shopping is a must!
With the need to rock a holiday dress, I found myself in the store that always catches my eye. Christmas lights, angels, chandeliers, vintage, and all the glitz and glam, Earth Angel was the most suitable place for me to be! With a design center, clothing boutique, and a dress gallery, I didn’t know where to begin. I was greeted with big smiles from owners, Victoria Stark and daughter, Claire Stark who have owned and operated Earth Angel for 36 years.  The boutique is like a one stop shop for any occasion…carrying Miss Me jeans, all natural fabric dresses, shirts, and skirts, re-invented clothing, Reef sandals, vintage broaches, purses, and Sophia’s Closet which is a baby collection designed by Claire.

As I wandered over to the dress gallery, I stopped in awe…dresses that will blow your mind! A fantasy for any woman who is obsessed with fashion! From Tony Bowls to Jessica McClintock you can buy any color, any style, wedding dress, prom dress, cocktail dress, or party dress you could dream of!  I also loved about this gallery the range of sizes, from XS-3XL as well as some styles running up to 5XL. Of course they also have a seamstress on hand for any alterations. I noticed that some of the hot trends where white, all colored sequins, cheetah, and embellished. They have all the accessories to complete your look from chandelier earrings to shoes to hair pieces to clutches.  I had two favorite dresses…a short pink sequined dress with alternating colored sequins flowing down. The second was a short white sweetheart neckline with a big cheetah flower on the hip…stunning!

My 2 faves.

From special jewelry, high impact heels, and dresses that rock a girls’ world, Earth Angel with 3 locations on 207 N. Main Street is the perfect party dress central!

Also one of my faves.

Home, Home on the Range.

TOMS share your story.

Mr. T and Wanda

Dress: Forever21
Jean Shirt: Levi's
Boots: Forever21
Belt: Forever21
Broach: Vintage from Earth Angel
Earrings: Earth Angel

Happy Monday!
I have tons of pairs of TOMS and have always been wanting to
share my photo, so today I broke down and did it.
I am standing doing the "Butterfly" rope trick on Wanda.
Wanda is about 35 years old..yes 35 years old!!! We call her the fossil. I have had her since I was 12 years old. Everything I know I have learned on this mare. Growing up, I did every event on her which included barrels, poles, goats, breakaway, and team roping heading/heeling.
I've won over $80,000 on her including a National Team Roping Championship
and too many ropings, saddles, buckles, and rodeos to name.
She is as old foundation as it gets...with Poco Bueno and Possum on her papers.
Mr. T is my breakaway and heel horse.
My senior year, I won the high school rodeo state finals breakaway average on him.
He is as good as it gets!
I am off to an interview for my column that is featured every Thursday!
Also, I just wanted to add wearing that Levi's shirt made me think of my Grandpa Lloyd who was one of Levi's first clothing designers...I still have the old clothing patterns. I miss him dearly.

Have a great afternoon!

XOXOXO

Column #3 The Flower Mill-Christmas Tree Decorating 101

It is December 1st. Which means there is only 24 days left until Christmas…man this year has flown! With 24 days left, we need to get our Christmas trees decorated! Decorating the tree is one of the most exciting parts of Christmas for me. With the need for some Christmas decorating inspiration,
I knew the perfect man to help!

Daryl Walters, an impeccably dressed man and the owner of the Flower Mill always has the Christmas inspiration to knock your socks off! As soon as you walk in the door, you instantly smile as you are greeted with a glittery, fun, green, and red tree with a happy little elf smiling back. The store is decorated from top to bottom with an array of Christmas decorations, ideas, and themed Christmas trees. The Flower Mill has been in business for 30 years, while Daryl has owned it for 6 years. Not only being a prosperous businessman, Daryl’s forte includes decorating homes, exclusive weddings, and of course at this time of year he is styling 10-15 homes and Christmas trees. With his use of peacock and pheasant feathers, an assortment of flowers, ribbons, and ornaments, I departed with a plethora of Christmas inspiration.

Times are tough this year and most of us are decorating on a budget. I did some shopping research and found that The Dollar Tree on Henderson has some beautiful ornaments from sparkly to traditional. They also have birds, pheasant feathers, ribbon, beads, and tons of Poinsettias and other flower bouquets…and yes for $1.00. If you are looking for bulk, Wal-Mart has plastic tubs of assorted colored round ornaments for $4.99. Target has a fabulous collection of ornaments for any themed tree you are planning on decorating.
For $15.00 you can purchase a 50 pack of small assorted colored ornament balls.
As for me, I will be decorating my live tree, peacock themed, mixed with feathers, glitter, and lots of blues, turquoise, and purple. For the most beautiful glitz and glammed trees around, go visit Daryl and his wonderful staff at The Flower Mill at 619 N. Main Street.

My favorite tree! Isn't is fabulous!!
